Amanda G. asked:Just wanted to reach out for advice regarding HVAC units and installation.... Just recently our HVAC unit started acting up. Specifically, the AC would start, then shut off right away (not cooling the house). We called our Home Warranty company and they sent someone out to look at it. He says it's a bad compressor and needs to be replaced. From the notes on the invoice he left us, that I can barely read... I believe it says "Bad Compressor, pulling lock amph and shutting off. Need new Compressor". It's not a surprise since the unit is 19 years old (Goodman Brand- 1998). We have electric AC and gas heat. All in all, we are waiting on the warranty company to get back with us regarding the coverage. The likelihood is that they will just do a payout, which will leave us footing the rest of the bill. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing?
