Hi guys! I'm heading off to Barcelona in July, with a few lady salsa newbies, but I really want to introduce them to salsa while we're there -
a) will it be worth it for them, and
b) where is a good place to go?

Germany? Seriously! Lol! I can suggest a few salsa clubs in Barcelona but I must let you know that I haven't lived there since 2009 and salsa clubs in Spain are known to close down and not update their websites. Nevertheless, a good option is Mojito Club ( www.mojitobcn.com ) which is probably the most well known salsa club in Barcelona and it's one that youth hostels usually bring foreigners to so they're used to beginners and people who can't speak much Spanish. Then, you've got Antilla BCN which is cool but not as beginner-friendly and they mainly dance cuban salsa in there ( www.antillasalsa.com ). There's one called Agua de Luna ( www.aguadeluna.com ) and one called Salsabor which I used to do lessons at. It was fantastic but I don't think it exists anymore. Sorry, I can't be of more help but I think a lot of the others have shut down. There are probably new ones but I don't know them. I'd recommend Mojito Club on a Thursday if you want pure salsa. They tend to play a mix of everything at the weekend. I'm sure if you go there, there'll be people handing out leaflets for other salsa nights around BCN. Have fun!
