On Tues we had workers at the house & the work they were doing caused our smoke detectors to go off for a good 20-30 min. I called our security company to see if there was a way to turn it off after it confirmed my address, but hung up before speaking to someone b/c the worker assured me it would stop in just a few min. Never got a call from security company. So I called yesterday to see where the communication had failed. The operator tells me that it must've just been a little glitch in the phone line. WHAT? Our house could've been burned to the ground!!! So what are we paying for? We're under contract until 2015 but this is just not sitting right with us & it's making us feel very uneasy. I told her that & she says that our monthly tests are coming back fine, there's definitely communication, blah blah blah. Our house alarm has only gone off once due to a door accidentally opening & they were very quick to respond then. But this whole chance of what if there's a fire, just scares me!!! Who do you all use for security? Just wondering if we should try to break our contract....
