The Big Fix for Big D project will conclude December 31, 2016 We are grateful for the thousands of pet owners who entrusted us to care for their four-legged friends and to the Companion Animal Funders Coalition for its support of Big Fix for Big D. The Big Fix for Big D initiative was a multi-year effort of four community partners to spay or neuter tens of thousands of pets in Dallas to significantly diminish numbers of unwanted litters, with the ultimate goal of reducing euthanasia of adoptable animals. Through the Big Fix for Big D initiative, the City of Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center (DAS), the Dallas Companion Animal Project (DCAP), Spay Neuter Network and SPCA of Texas, offered spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and registration for free to pets whose owners live in select Dallas zip codes.
These services were free thanks to the generous support of the Companion Animal Funders Coalition, which includes The Dallas Foundation, The George & Fay Young Foundation, The Meadows Foundation and The Rees-Jones Foundation. In addition, Dallas Animal Services provides in-kind support in the form of free pet registration.

Like Lee said, through Big Fix for Big D you can get her spayed & vaccinations for FREE! http://www.bigfixforbigd.com/
Lee J. replied:
If you want them for FREE, do big fix for big d instead. And yes, definitely spay! Besides it being the law and illegal to bring your pet out in public around other animals without it (walks, dog parks, patios, etc) it prevents behavior issues, and also prevents female cancers -- every heat cycle exponentially increases chances for developing these. ;o)
Looking for some TNR help in Fort Worth. Please message me for details if you know someone who could help. Thanks!

I think there is the Big D fix in some areas near Dallas, may include Garland. But that is why I preach TNR! Visit www.alleycat.org to learn about TNR. Check out www.bigfixforbigd.com for low or no cost spay/ neuter may include garland. Go to either Safer stray and feral rescue or Dallas Cat lady adoptions to see if there are people in Garland Area or traps that you can borrow to TNR those cats at your mom's house In Garland. Those kitties need to be fixed bf it gets so out of hand and animal control gets calls to trap and kill! Folks there are resources and info out there to address the issue. Please search and use them. It's really not that hard once you learn how to TNR!
