Franklin I. asked:Anybody out there able and want to help a military family. I received the following message today: "Hello! I am not a photographer, but I'm coming to you for help! My husband is coming home from a 6 month deployment this Wednesday (July 13 between 8-9:45 am at Mayport). I had a photographer booked through Operation Love Reunited, which is an organization in which local photographers volunteer to shoot military homecomings at no cost. Unfortunately our photographer had to cancel last minute due to a work commitment that popped up and it's too late to book another one. I'm hoping to find a local photographer (or hobby photographer) who would be interested in shooting the homecoming for our family at low or no cost. We have a 2 year old boy and a 6 month old baby girl and was really looking forward to capturing the reunion with their daddy all decked out in their patriotic outfits. :) I'm hoping that someone will be willing to shoot it for us in order to build up their portfolio. Do you know of anyone in your group who would be interested, or another website that I can look to? I really appreciate any help you can provide!" If you are able and willing to help this family out please let me know with the best way to contact to you and I will pass it along to them (I am also getting contact information from them to pass back). Under the Info menu, there is a link practically hidden in that dialogue near the bottom for the application. I know it's a little of a pain to get in touch with "the organization" because it's just a couple of people that are working to coordinate it. Stephanie West, fill out the application anyway. You can also contact them through the Contact Us link and discuss the requirement for being a studio. Their main reason for that is to maintain the quality of the work being done. They have made exceptions to that and if you show them your work, I don't think you'll have any problems. This organization is only a couple of years old and growing so fast, I think it's overwhelming Tonee, the founder a little some times. Be patient and don't give up on doing this for our military families.
