  http://britons-protection.com/ The Britons Protection is a bit of a Manchester institution. Massive selection of wiskeys. The beer is ok but the food is average. You could walk down to the Peveril of the Peak which is an amazing pub. Check out the tiles. You could then get a taxi/train up to the Marble Arch pub which does loads of great beers (mostly vegan too I think) and some great food in the back room. The interior is special too. Then wonder down to Victoria for the last train home.
