  I find the best way is to just network with other DJ's and instead of taking them as an enemy consider them as a friend, I have a fair bit of work thanks to them not being able to do it and me being their first person they call. That or simply messaging them! www.needadisco.com is the one i was signed up at, then i had several people ask for a 6 hour gig for under £200. Was not a happy bunny.
