  Have a look at the South African Freelancers Association- each year they have a recommended rates document for writers, copy editors, photographers, etc. I see they haven't updated with a rates list for this year yet, but last year's can be found on their website: http://www.safrea.co.za/.../SAFREA_RECOMMENDED_RATES...

  The Safrea rate list compiled with input from its members is only available/accessible to members of Safrea. Safrea's annual fees are very reasonable - used to be a member for the last 10 years of my full-time wordsmithing/media specialist career.
