  Hi All, I'm doing a bit of fact finding. Where would people recommend settling as a permanent resident on the island, North or South? A couple I know who've retired early, no kids are considering moving over. Not looking for a family friendly resort or very touristy. Would want to be in a mixed community with a Spanish way of life with a mix of Spanish, Germans and Scandinavians with a small ex pat community. Would like shops, restaurants and bars close by, walking or short drive with lots of clubs to get involved with i.e. golf, bowls, craft clubs, Spanish classes, walking club etc. but not interested in being somewhere where there's lots of 'Brits Abroad' or British pubs as not big drinkers. Any ideas from personal experience of where's best or where to avoid? Cheers x
