  Does anyone know of any free dental clinics, dental outreach events, or programs? I have a friend with no insurance who needs all of his teeth extracted and replaced with dentures. He has been using the UNC Chapel Hill clinic and whatever free local events he can find, but most times they are only able to take one tooth per session so it's taking a long time and he needs all the help he can get. He is willing to travel a reasonable distance so it doesn't have to be in Raleigh. Any clinics, free events, or aid programs would be great. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

  If your friend lives in Wake County and could get referred by a referring agency, he could go to Wake Smiles http://www.wakesmiles.org/ . UNC also offers a free clinic called SHAC: http://www.med.unc.edu/shac . Also, in April, the Prosthodontics depar tment at UNC is doing a denture clinic (free dentures). If your friend could get connected to Wake Smiles, they could possibly connect him to this service. PM for more details if needed, I attend UNC's School of Dentistry.
