  Planning a Welsh 'outdoor-swimming safari' in August. Staying a couple of nights, looking for somewhere within a 2-hr drive of Chester. Any suggestions of good lakes or other spots not to miss, and hotel tips appreciated too! Going through the Wild Swimming 2013 book but any tips welcome! Thanks.

And we are pretty handy for a Bala base (plus we have our own 'secret lake' a 15 min walk up from the caravan (https://www.facebook.com/pages/A-bit-of-Bala-Beauty-Dark-Sky-Camping-and-Glamping/158660187617688?ref_type=bookmark) either £5 pp/n for campers, or we have a 'boutiqued' static caravan for £250 a week school hols (2 sharing)......... My fave lake so far was at the base of Cadair Idrys, and I am planning to swim blue lake nr fairbourne soooooon :-)
