With Gen Con coming up, I was wondering if anybody has any tips on affordable framing for originals? So far the winner seems like frameusa.com, but I was wondering if anybody had any other favorites. Thanks!

Most juried (and possibly all) shows don't allow paintings with glass anymore due to the potential for breakage and as volunteers mainly do the unpacking. If you are shipping to a Con (like Gencon or Luxicon) , even if you will be the one doing the unpacking, you might want to check if they have any rules prohibiting glass. I haven't exhibited in any of those Cons so i don't know. But any of the watercolor shows or pastel shows (where glass might be used in framing) don't allow it. If you must ship paintings which have glass, then, i suggest buying boxes from http://www.masterpak-usa.com...expensive boxes but they are used by galleries.
Hi group! Have you got recommendations for crates? I am not as handy as I would like and have to ship something overseas relatively soon. Any thoughts about where to get a good crate quickly?

Masterpak makes really nice boxes for shipping art, not sure if it is what you need but check them out. http://www.masterpak-usa.com/
