  A few years ago after an Easter camp trip to Gloucester Caravan park (a place we ordinarily love) we vowed never to camp at Easter again as it was so packed it was like a refugee camp. Well after this weekend we are adding the Labour Day weekend. Sand Bar at Pacific Palms is another great spot we normally love but this weekend was like a mixture of refugee camp and rock concert. Not doing it again during school holidays. So we have a question, does anybody have any recommendation for camp sites within 5 hours of Newcastle were we are likely to get some peace and quiet and get away from it all rather than feeling like we have simply followed "it all". Prefer less developed camp sites, and especially love those who allow fires

  This website will give you an idea of the roads and area Shannon Froome there are others which will come up giving directions to the old stamping mills etc, we camped beside the creek near one of the old mills, but there are camp grounds not far away a llowing access to these places on day trips etc, ellenborough falls is fantastic but be warned the climb down is easy, the reverse is exhausting! http://www.4 x4 earth.com.au/tracks.html...

  Magazine Gully Track, stillmans trk, maintengoon ridge trk. There is one at the back of goughs bay but not sure what its called. Its on www.4 x4 earth.com.au though.
