It's been like 3 years and some symptoms of a chronic disease I have are starting to get worse so I need to see someone soon... I would prefer a woman due to some past traumas I've been through but I would probably be okay with an empathetic, male doctor.

  It seems bleak but I think you'll just have to start calling practices. There's also a website (http://www.cdha.nshealth.ca/www.findafamilypractice) that gives further contact info if you have no doctor but have an "active need" (i.e. a chronic condition!). Don't give up.
