  Civil lawyer recommendations? Sup bne A friend (yeah, I know) got a letter from QCAT today and they need to respond within 5 days. The amount isn't huge, but still enough to warrant some legal advice. Does anyone have any recommendations for individuals or firms for civil matters (paid, not free)? Will ask legal aid as well, but keen to see if anyone has recommendations.

  Your friend could look into a fixed-fee firm - they'd usually be able to provide a free/low-cost initial consult to look at the matter and then give you quote for the whole thing. E.g. [Sajen Legal](https://www.sajenlegal.com.au/legal-services/) (Disclaimer - I know someone that works there but they were helpful when I contacted them so would recommend anyway.) As far as free services go, [QPILCH](http://www.qpilch.org.au/) were very helpful to me, but unless your friend genuinely can't afford a lawyer they might not be able to help.
