  Hello there Can anyone recommend a nice hostel in Taipei? Just somewhere cheap and easy to get to from the airport? Ideally somewhere fun-centrically placed? Also if anyone knows what's good to do in the city it would be well received. My friend is coming from Scotland, we're into outdoorsy stuff, sports and just lols in general. We've got from the 12-20th-- are we best to spend the first two or three days there and then escape for the CNY end of the week, go to Kenting or somewhere? Or has anyone done the fireworks and thought it was a laugh? (I really don't mean 'a laugh' as in: 'I partook in a full evening, crawling, monotonous, procession of one horrifically long queue for transport, which snaked seamlessly onto the next , to the point that I didn't know if I was waiting to watch some stuff go off in the sky -the same stuff that has already been waking me up in the night for the last week straight-or in line for the toilet...that I became hysterical and laugh/cried into my reasonably priced but undersized hotdog'... I mean, you know: a genuine giggle.) Any input would be really appreciated. Thanks so much.

  Hello, What budget hotels, hostels, or Air BnB homes would you recommend in Taipei? I want to stay near the subway line in a place that is clean, has English speakers, and has heat. I'd prefer the shopping districts, Xining, Daan, or Taipei 101. I don't mind climbing stairs, or walking a bit to the subway, stores, or food stalls. Thank you!
