Ricco was surrendered to us a month ago due to a change in his UK family's circumstances. He has been in foster in Wiltshire since then as we wanted to assess and check out some reported niggles - one being that he was a bit mouthy and had become quite barky/anxious around his then-owner who has a seizure disorder. We thought this was probably because he was very sensitive to his owner's illness, but we needed to be sure.
And indeed, this has proved the case. In a different situation,Ricco is a fab young man - a retrievery-looking collie x boy who is super with people big and small and good with other dogs. He can now walk quite nicely on a lead, and his recall off-lead is pretty good if there are no distractions.
We are, however, looking for a home that can commit to classes to nail one residual issue - he gets very excited when he spots another dog and goes bowling up to them. He is not at all aggressive but this, obviously, is not appropriate. We have no doubts that with training and more socialisation, this will be soon cracked.
Ricco is a year old, neutered, fully-vaccinated, wormed and frontlined. He is looking for an active home, ideally with another steady dog. Older children would be fine. (He has been very calm around his current foster's grandchildren.)
Ricco is in foster in Warminster, Wiltshire.
Lovely-looking boy this one who will be great fun for the right family.
