  ISO: small breed puppy to adopt, mix is ok, yes I have checked the local shelter. We are responsible dog owners, our 13 year old toy poodle recently passed and we are looking to give another baby a forever home.   I work at Furkids. We are on Union Hill road. We are a no kill shelter. All of the available dogs are listed here - Furkids.org - All of the dogs are up to date on shots, are spayed/Neutered, and microchipped.

  Sorry to take a bit to get back to you - my internet went down. I have volunteered with an animal rescue organization in Atlanta, www.furkids.org. You can contact the volunteer coordinator at volunteer@furkids.org to see how they have gotten hooked up with people needing to do community service. Hope it helps!

  Furkids generally socialize the animals as well so you're not fixing problems brought about by neglect when someone gets an animal, decides they don't want it, then "discipline" it for fending for itself. But if you wanna save $ now just to have something chewed, shit, or vomited on later

  Furkids is the largest no kill, cage free shelter in the state. If you do ever want to get involved with a shelter, I recommend them.
