  Im in the beginning stages of planning a week long snowmobile trip for drake and i this winter. Im tentatively planning on going during drakes christmas break from school. Id like to leave on a friday afternoon and return the next thursday. I dont want the hassle and long drive and cold of another canada trip so im looking at tug hill area. Does anyone have any suggestions for lodging and an exact area up there? I dont want to do the cabin thing where i gota build a fire everynight but we dont need a hotel with room service either. Ideally id like to stay in a motel with hot water, a heater, and beds but nothing fancy and i want to be able to walk out the door and get on our sleds and pull onto the trail system.

  Note check snow reports before going . Went to tug till year . There was like 6' . But old forge was only a dusting . Redfield ny is the place . Big trail system would compare to this area. Old Forge is more Adirondak mountain scenery
