Can anyone recommend where a girl can get some landlord/tenant advice? I'm not looking to hire a lawyer unless totally necessary, just have some questions and in need of some direction. Thanks!

You can try Metropolitan Council on Housing. They have helped me with issues in the past. There is a hotline on their opening page you can call. Also, there may in their archives, an answer to your questions. Best to you on it. http://metcouncilonhousing.org/
Tenant lawyer recommendations? I've got a rent stabilized apartment and recently requested a rent history and discovered what I believe to be an illegal increase in rent. Does anyone have any recommendations for a tenant lawyer that can review this?
My dear friends need an apartment in Manhattan. 1 bedroom for about $1800. Prefer , UES, LES, East Village, West Village (one is a bartender in WV and gets home super late). Anyone have any leads? Want to share your landlords number?

@Mark, well, I have a 3 bedroom, full dining room and living room (those are often converted to bedrooms), 2 bath for $1500, so... Granted it's in Bklyn, but you'd be surprised. NYC housing miracles do happen. They should happen more but we need to fix the Rent Guidelines Board first and in order to do that, we need to pass "Home Rule" which would take the power to govern housing policy/pricing away from the State and put it in the hands of the City.
