  Trying to locate people that were in or around Movement for a Democratic Military (MDM) or American Serviceman Union (ASU). If anybody knows where to find old issues of their papers, please let me know. Trying to compile some research. I was associated with MDM at Great Lakes.   Does anyone know the history of the building on Academy St where the restaurant Aglio is now located? I know Mulrooney Moving and Storage was there at one time, and a bakery names Benninsons(?). Thanks!

  As noted, built ca. 1909 as the Bennison & Lane Bakery. The same year one of the brothers-in-law built the Bennison house in the Fourth Ward a few blocks away. The site before that was part of the YMCA property, possibly an exercise yard.
