  New York City. My youngest daughter is visiting NYC in November, can any of our FB friends recommend reasonably priced hotels please? Preferably centrally located near Times square or mid-town. Or perhaps a little further out but where there is very good public transport so they can get into the city easily and cheaply. They are on a shoestring budget:-)

  I have the best place - Seafarers and International House. It is a hostel-type, run by Lutherans, where you can get beds with shared or private bathrooms. In lower Manhattan, I think it is near Union Station. Definitely the place to go if you're on a shoestring. It'll be half the price of a "cheap" hotel, and the place is clean and sufficient. http://www.sihnyc.org/
