  ISO a dog trainer. Like Cesar Milan. Someone really really good at helping my dog not attack other dogs and live as a pack with a new little dog that also needs some pack training.   I recommend Michelle Rizzi, at Handle With Care Dog Training, in Salt Lake: http://www.handlewithcaredogtraining.com/meet-the-trainer/ When I worked as a professional pet care specialist, I referred all my clients to her at the training centre she co-created, Calling All Dogs, for complex issues like food aggression, dog dog aggression, and fear aggression, and had glowing reports back. Michelle was also the only trainer (and I'd tried a few,) who was able to help me with my very complicated and fear-based aggressive German Shepherd mix. One visit from her, and I had a treatment plan that helped me understand why he was responding the way he did, and all the preventative and responsive ideas I could ask for, so that I could change how I handled the situations, which changed how he reacted, considerably! She also taught me how to stop him barking at loud noises, the door, and the neighbors next door, and basically produced a calmer, more relaxed (less anxious) dog. A happier me, too. And much happier neighbors! ps. She is purely a positive reinforcement trainer, which is why I went to her. After having used one trainer in the beginning who used force, as well as prong collars and other similar methods, Max was even more terrified. Michelle won him over inside of five minutes in our house, and me in the process. I was really impressed with her.
