  Wondering if anyone here installed a pressure thingie after the city installed the backflow devices on their water meter (has the city actually done this?). What does the pressure thing actually do? We're having some plumbing issues (when the tub drains water bubbles up in the other toilet and kitchen sink--ew) but I think they are related to a willow tree next door. A year ago we had the lines snaked and they found lots of roots. Today water came out from under the toilet (that Gene's plumbing removed and re-installed when they snaked the line) when I drained the tub--not good! I will check the plumber reference list here and on JP but if anyone has any suggestions for a good plumber, I'd be happy to have a recommendation. Prefer not to use Gene again as the guy he sent out actually ended up taking money from a friend that I referred him to and didn't complete the work (moonlighting, I guess). Advice anyone?

  When we had back-up problems a couple of years ago. A master plumber came out, snaked the lines and determined that the majority of the problem came from the City's lines. The city installed a "clean out" in our and our neighbors front/easement yard and still have to come out monthly to flush the lines on Westwood. Call Public Works at 404 270-7096 and ask them to check and then call the staff member, I'll try to find his name and number, dedicated to the Backflow installation schedule. We still don't have one and they started collecting $3.00/mo over 3 years ago.
