I'm looking for an older car that still has some reliable miles left on it, and I'm having trouble finding one at anything near a reasonable price point. I used to look on Craigslist and find one from an actual owner and try to work a deal with them. I'm pretty good at auto mechanics, and I know how to spot a lemon, so that has always worked well for me. But now CL and Facebook Marketplace are overcrowded with worn-out cars that "pseudo-dealers" have picked up at open auctions, barely cleaned up, and advertise as FSBO to try to make a quick buck. Even when I call one of them, I *always* find something shady or deceptive going on when I evaluate the car myself (like odometer rollback). So I'll keep looking for owners selling their used cars, but if you know any dealers who sell older used cars at a decent price, please let me know in the comments. TIA!

  The used car market is insanely overinflated right now. I work in auto finance and we're selling some 3 year old used cars at auction for more than their new MSRP. Terrible time to buy a used car and probably will be for the next several months. That being said, use [truecar.com](https://truecar.com) to preshop and consider an online only retailer like [carvana.com](https://carvana.com) or vroom.com.

  I recommend www.vroom.com They are in Texas but they deliver. Best part is they use the no haggle/no negotiation model of car sales. No sales tactics. No up sales. Just buy what you want on line and have it delivered or pick it up in person. I bought a car from them and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I reserved it online then went to Dallas to test drive it and finalize the purchase. If you don't want to buy something in Texas online then Carmax is the next best option. However, they are consistently more expensive than Vroom.

  Not a CT dealer but absolutely the BEST car-buying experience I've had in my life: vroom.com. Their business model is based on sites like Zappos and Amazon in that you input your basic criteria (year/brand/type etc.) and choose the car you want from their inventory, which is all clean-title, accident free and multi-point inspected. They are no-haggle, so the listed price is the price. They deliver the car to you and you have a week to return it if you're not happy with it. They also take trade-ins and do financing.

  Hello friends....we are going to have a short trip to Sydney in April. This will be our initial landing there after our PR got granted. My family is coming along, 5 adults and 1 child of 5 years old. We are looking for car rental, to move around the city, don't plan to drive far, probably engage local tour for those further attractions. My question is, can we rent a 5 seaters car but fit 6 persons without having to break the law, or it is actually legal to 'not counting' the child for a seat on her own?
