  All have interesting, rich history. San Antonio: First, catch the narrated city tour bus next to the Alamo for an overview of the city's history. Then, catch a boat to float down the river. Tex-Mex food for lunch or dinner. Go back to places of interest from the overview. www.visitsanantonio.com Galveston: Tour a couple of the beautiful old homes (1886 Bishop's Palace, Ashton Villa, etc). See The Great Storm attraction about the 1900 Hurricane. Visit Moody Gardens. Seafood meal(s) at Shrimp-N-Stuff, or Fisherman's Wharf, etc). Cruise ships to the Caribbean are in & back out on the weekends. www.galveston.com Not as familiar with Corpus, but Padre Island National Seashore is nearby. www.visitcorpischristitx.org Texas beaches are not as pretty as Florida, but the history is interesting and unique to explore. Check road conditions and perhaps take a Southern route into Texas right now (I-10 maybe) because snow is predicted for northern part of the State (maybe impacting I-30 and I-20).

  Any idea how much the ball room in the convention center where we had our prom would cost to rent out? Rent it out for a few hours then you have everything in the immediate area, lodging, entertainment, bars, food, and etc all in one convenient area and location.
