Best companies for hiring people to unload my uhaul? I need two people to help unload my uhaul next week. It’s on the 3rd floor. Can anybody recommend a good company? If you’re looking for some extra cash I’m also down to hire some strong burly people off Reddit.

Be fucking careful with the "companies" they link to on [uhaul.com](https://uhaul.com). We did this, and some scumbag in florida "hired" two homeless drug addicts who could barely lift themselves, let alone our stuff. When we tipped them, the guy on the phone told them that was their wages. We bought them some food later. Then the guy charged our CC 3 additional times, forged our signatures on fake invoices when we did a chargeback. Uhaul kicked him off their referral site but he was back on with a new business name within days. God I hated that guy.

Go to a college neighborhood and post a sign that says you'll pay for beer if they unload a u-haul. Honestly though, one good thing about a college town is that cheap labor is fairly abundant. And those youngings won't be as likely to hurt themselves.
Safe movers? Can anyone recommend a good safe mover? I need to get a large gun safe moved to my basement. I’ve tried reaching out to a few I’ve seen from the google machine and haven’t heard back.

Try Unhaul moving help which you can find by going to uhaul.com. I’d recommend the Spine Savers. Great communication, easy to work with and got the job done!
Looking for movers ASAP. HELP! I need help! I need to move my stuff from my apartment and my movers have not shown up - told me they were stuck two hours ago and I cannot get a hold of them! Can anyone with a truck and trailer offer to help or does anyone have any suggestions?! Thanks in advance.
Edit: located in Mardaloop and going to Dalhousie. It’s 2 bedroom apartment (one dresser, one queen size mattress with bed frame already taken apart, full-size mattress and box spring, couch, coffee table and end tables, and about 30 boxes)
Inertial_Mass replied:
Try uhaul.com There you can hire local help moving. Some have a truck. Or you can rent a uhaul truck and hire the helpers as a package. I've done this twice. Two local guys showed up and they were awesome.
Moving companies? Moving towards the end of August. I will probably get a lot of my stuff in my car but there’s other stuff I need help with. I’m on the 3rd floor of an apartment. Washer/dryer would be the hardest. Otherwise couch, bed, some other small furniture, and few boxes.
Any good recommendations?

Check uhaul.com to compare rates for moving labor (with or without a truck). I’ve moved cross-country and in-town several times and this has worked really well for me.

Go to uhaul.com and you can hire movers very cheap, all you have to do is rent the truck and drive it. They will have a list of people, some will be expensive and some are affordable, I think we paid like 120 for two hours and they had everything loaded and unloaded with time to spare.
Waste removal Does anyone know of a good but affordable waste removal option? We have a pile of debris from a renovation that we need taken care of.
Elsa_Gundoh replied:
cheapest, worst option is to put it in your trash can until it's full, then wait until next week and repeat for probably 18 weeks or whenever your pile is gone, lol most affordable option is you rent a truck and haul it to the landfill yourself www.uhaul.com second most affordable is to hire a guy with a truck to do it for you www.bigguys.biz/ next up is rent a dumpster, they will take it away for you when you're done https://www.republicservices.com/shop

Joni C. replied:
If you go to Uhaul.com you can reserve a truck for anywhere in town that rents them! The prices are usually the same everywhere as it's done through Uhaul, not a specific place. I rented a truck from Uhaul and picked it up at A&D Power equipment on Nicholson for a move earlier this week! The truck was $29.95 for the day + $0.89 I think per kilometer driven.
Can anyone recommend a moving company that will pick up my items in Southern California and move (also potentially unload) them into our new home? Thank you.

Hello- we are moving into our house in Arlington Heights tomorrow and are now without movers to help us unload the UHaul. Does anyone know of a reliable moving company? It is mainly just some furniture (moving from a 1 bedroom apartment) and would likely take less than 2 hours. Thanks!

It you go to uhaul.com you can search for moving labor and there are reviews. Good luck.

Recommendations for Movers Hi all,
In about three weeks, I'll need to hire some movers for a few hours to help unload our rental truck. My husband and I can do stuff like boxes, chairs, etc., but we'll need some help with some of our heavier and bulkier items. Specifically, we need to use movers who are knowledgeable about moving a piano...up a flight of apartment stairs. Do you guys have any recommendations for movers, especially those who service the I-95/Route 17 area?
Thanks so much for your help!
QueMIke replied:
We've gone to uhaul.com to find and hire our last two movers in this area. The listing will tell you if they move pianos.

Anyone got a moving company that charges by the hour ?
Dan H. replied:
I tell what I did that was actually really nice: I rented a Uhaul from Uhaul.com. When you do that, you can book helper time from any number of providres, by the hour, at the same time. They handle the payment and there are Yelp style reviews for all the vendors. I ended up using a pair of guys called Fairwinds Movers, they were about half the hourly rate I was quoted from other local movers. The best was it was really what I needed - just help loading and unloading. Not full service moving.
Any good movers anybody would recommend. We just need the movers to load the truck.

We are doing it DITY move, so we just need some movers to load the truck. No packing or driving. Thanks in advance.
Possibly dumb question, but out of curiosity: Did any of you use a moving service or hire someone to help you move large/heavy items into a 3rd floor apartment? If so, do you know the name of the service you used?

ISO affordable help packing and moving my three bedroom apartment into a uhaul possibly as early as Friday or Saturday. I will be moving out of state soon and was hoping that someone could recommend a reputable moving company.. I have heard such horror stories about companies that use brokers and/or have hidden charges and some actually hold your personal items hostage until the additional charges are paid. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Madeline C. replied:
We moved ourselves with u-haul and it was the best experience. What you do is you rent the u-haul or two that you need. Then on their website for each location that you're moving from/to you can find companies that will come and pack all your stuff in the truck. You pick the companies by past user reviews and there's a 1-5 start scale for the reviews ands you can chose who to work with from there. Then you drive your things without worry if anyone is going to remove items along the journey. There are also no ridiculous wait times for your household items to get to you. When you get to the new location you select a company in that area. I planned it all ahead and it ran so smoothly. I would tell anybody that's how to do it. Never mind the fact that is was thousands and thousands less than any quote I received from a moving company with a wait time for my items. You can do everything online as well as read reviews at uhaul.com

Trish, when we move from house to house, I use moving helpers. Go to uhaul.com and the bottom theres a link that says "Moving Help". You put in your address and up pops people local to you. It says how much they charge per hour and their services. We've used them 5 different times with all good experiences. Look at the reviews, that helps. Soms of them offer cleaning too. They can provide the truck or you rent your own and they will drive it. Budget or Ryder trucks are cheaper than uhaul. There's also a company that you rent the storage boxes, fill it up, then they take it to your new house. It's a little pricey but so convenient. I can look to see what's available like this in your area if you want. Pm me. If you cant find free boxes on craigslist or what not, home depot sells them the cheapest. We've moved 5 times in the last 5 years, I'm a pro. Lol. Hope this helped.
I cant remember the name of the guys i used in cbus but if u go to uhaul.com n view their list thats where i found them n they finished in a 2 hr window. I just hired more from there 2 werks ago in dayton very professional n quick both times

We used the U-Haul facility on Clack -- $60-70 a month (I just looked at their online options). It's indoors, climate controlled, w/security surveillance, etc. (Check uhaul.com for options.) And I may know a guy who could help, and maybe get some friends Also, there's a company here called "The Moving Guys" -- I don't know much about them personally, but they're at least supposedly reasonable, etc., and at least w/them, you wouldn't be confined to students' schedules or something.

Help!!! We are struggling with our finances but I don't really have any options to work outside the home. We live in a town of 200 with no childcare or jobs available. The nearest town is 40 miles away and the jobs available there wouldn't be worth me driving and paying for daycare. Does anyone know of any jobs I can work from home? I'm so stressed out and my husband works so hard to get us by and I need to help too! Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I had really good luck with uhaul.com's moving help. You rent the truck and hire the guys to load and unload. This way you're only paying for labor you use, and not a company's overhead. Highly do NOT recommend DC Movers! We used them when we moved to Wilm from Raleigh last year. I did end up w/some $ back, but what a nightmare!
