Any good places to go camping with small kids in New England? Can anyone recommend places in New England that are good for camping with small kids (5yo and 1.5yo)?
The ideal place would have cabins (the younger one is too small for tents), and would be within ~2hrs of Boston...but I'm open to suggestions!

Check out koa.com! They are usually more family friendly oriented campgrounds, than your average campsite. My favourite growing up was Barton cove campground, though it’s much more rustic than a koa campsite.

We are looking to stay in the Nashville area tonight and tomorrow night, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg. Any suggestions of places to look into?

I used to camp at state parks , if you dont mind paying for a day permit for the state you are in ?? But I find KOA campgrounds work the best, They have washing machines, swimming pools, and some even have pancakes in the morning for free, Tents sites are cheap.. But I have also used there cabins,, If you join there membership you can also build points to free nights for camping.....Ck it out... http://koa.com/
I just got a recall notice from General Motors on my 2012 Chevy Malibu. They have to replace something in the electrical system that controls the braking system. Waiting on the dealer to get the parts. I bought and paid for this car 2 years ago, and have put a whopping 1600 miles on it. I had the oil changed at 1000 miles and the mechanic laughed at me. I really need to go somewhere. lol

They're not fancy....AT ALL!!! There's a double bed, a set of bunks, & a shelf/table in a cabin....usually nothing else. You have to use a bathhouse for toilets & showers (flip flops!). But there's usually a porch swing, grill, & picnic table outside. Some have mini-golf, nature trails, swimming pool, a mini-market (souvenirs & forgotten groceries)....you just have to look at each one to see what they have. KOA.com

From an experienced camper: 1. ADVANCE RESERVATIONS are an ABSOLUTE MUST during peak season. Campgrounds can be booked full for months in advance. 2. If the place/date is full, check reservation system daily for 10 days prior - can sometimes snag an opening due to late cancellations. (Got a "prize" hook-up site at Serrano, Big Bear for last weekend that way.) 3. Peak season is weekends Apr-Oct and daily mid-Jun to mid-Sep (except in desert campgrounds where peak is Oct to Apr weekends) 4. Reservations for state, national and Orange County sites: www.reserveamerica.com 5. County/Regional campgrounds not part of reserveamerica system: cms.sbcounty.gov/parks * www.rivcoparks.org * www.reservations.lacounty.gov * www.reservations.sdparks.org * www.venturaparks.org * www.kerncountyparks.org 6. Some private campgrounds that don't require membership: www.canyonrvpark.com * www.bonitaranchcampground.com * www.koa.com * Seven Oaks 909-794-2917 (no website) 7. RLF Campers - need some help. Joe has run into a roadblock with camping. Nothing available. How far are you willing to drive for camping? Bryson city camping is 2:50 min away with flushable facilities, but no showers. Another one is 4 hours away in the Smokey Mtns and has showers/facilities. Thoughts? Anyone know of a campground that you recommend and he can check on?

Hello fellow Pembrokians :)
I'm looking to take my kids camping this summer and I'm in need of advise. I'm looking to rent an RV, hopefully from a place that will deliver and set up at the campground as I don't have a vehicle that can pull an RV. Also I'm looking for an affordable, kid friendly activity packed place that's not too far away. Any help is appreciated-Thanks :)

We have also rented cabins (both deluxe and more rustic) here: http://koa.com/
Need a little assistance please, could someone check for pet friendly hotels in Childress, TX? And also what restaurants please. We're thinking that would be a good place to stop, and am having a difficult time with my google search.
Bobbie C. replied:
Along your route, you can also check out KOA' s with cabins. Usually have pet friendly cabins, costs about the same as a motel room. Showers are on site, that is if you packed some towels! Many other RV parks also have cabins. www.koa.com

There are two different KOAs at West Yellowstone. You may want to get reservations at one of them. We stayed at the west Yellowstone one and were satisfied. http://koa.com
