I need some advice. My husband and I are going commercial next year and I'm nervous. I've done a walkthrough in my garage for the neighborhood for 5 years, then I took one year off, then did a walkthrough at a cabin in the woods as part of a county haunted attraction for two years. I've gone from 150 tots on halloween night for 2.5 hours to 1500+ over two nights for 6 hours. I've always gotten good feedback, although the last time what I heard was... "that's it?" refering to the length, because mine was the smallest.
Anyway, we're going to Transworld this year to talk to the experts and to hopefully pick up some props. I would like to take classes on pneumatics because most of my props are static or wiper motor based.
I'm thinking of doing a haunted house based on paranoia. I've done so many different themes in the past I woud like to use all if not most of my props, especially since this should be the largest one I've ever done.
I guess what I need to get feedback on is about insurance, advertising, how much to charge, how large of a space should I rent, and best types of locations to rent. We will be based in Florida.
Thanks in advance!!
