Can anyone recommend a good divorce lawyer? And by 'good' I don't mean someone who will make it difficult. I just need someone who will represent me well and make it quick and painless.
Me and the soon-to-be ex are on good terms, so we don't need any third party drama
Thanks

Two of my friends recommend the http://thesdrc.com/ for assistance.
Looking for a "divorce mediator" who specializes in property division before it gets to the lawyers and starts costing ridiculous amounts of money. A friend of mine unfortunately is splitting up with their partner. They been together for 30 years but sometimes these things happen. Anyway my friend wants to treat their partner fairly, but they also don't want to get stripped of everything they've ever earned.
To make it a bit more complicated my friends partner is carrying a lot of anger and is not going to be easy to deal with, hence a mediator. All lawyers are going to do at this point is to send $50 emails back-and-forth.
Also if anyone has had any experience with a mediator, good or bad, please feel free to share it.

My parents used a place in the east end, it's in the plaza on Innes and Bearbrook road. Worked out really well and was not pricy. I'd definitely suggest it. It's called the separation and divorce resource centre. Good luck to your friends! Hopefully this helps :) http://thesdrc.com/

Good morning Angels!
I am going through a separation and I am finding it very hard to deal with. He notified me March 4th that he wanted to leave. This month is hard as it marked 21 years together/18 years married. I am so uncomfortable staying with him in our old house so I have been currently staying with a friend. I feel lost and not in control. I thought that I could do it without going through a laywer, but I am starting to get scared that I can't. I have never been on my own before, I went straight from university to living with him and then marrying him. We have 3 children and they are currently staying with him and I see them on weekends.
Basically long story short, I need a lawyer. I am in Barrhaven, any recommendations? Preferably one that isn't too expensive as I am not receiving anything from him right now.
Looking for recommendations for someone who specializes in Family Counselling so I can work some stuff out with my ex wrt parenting. TIA
Edit: I live in Barrhaven and work at Riverside & Heron so would prefer something within those radii.

Hey ladies, I have a dear friend who's going through a very nasty split after 18 yrs of marriage. Police have had to get involved as he's gone completely mental and of course, he's refusing mediation or a lawyer. She desperately wants to get things moving but doesn't know where to start for legal advice without having to pay over $200/hr. She's on a very limited income as she's also paying off debts he incurred during the marriage. Does anyone know a place to go or call? Is there a lawyer on here who'd be willing to help out pro-bono, or direct to one? Thanks so much!!!

Diane Valiquette at www.thesdrc.com. Would be a good first stop.
Could anyone here offer a recommendation for a couples counsellor? Last ditch effort to save a sinking ship requires a third party who is affordable as I am low income. Is there such a thing as evening or weekend therapists? thx in advance. Much appreciated Ladies
