They were unable to complete the snag list and walked off the job forfeiting their last payment. Homeshield claimed that this was due to unreasonably “high” standards. These “high” standards included ensuring the shower installed does not leak and that the hot mixer is connecting to the hot water and the cold mixer to the cold water. After ensuring that their materials are top quality the fittings used started rusting a few weeks in causing rusty water in all our new bathrooms, additionally leaking fittings also resulted in a ruined vanity, which needed to be replaced. They also only glued my kitchen sink to the stone counter and after a few months of use, the sink fell down damaging my plumbing fittings. Promises were made to us before signing the contract and when it came to producing what they promised they were unable to deliver. The way that the company dealt with this situation was poor and unprofessional, choosing rather to forfeit a payment than resolve issues. I would not recommend Homeshield, but if you decide to make use of them withhold at least 50% of the contract fee till after the snag list has been completed.
