Small disclaimer: I am aware the topic has been discussed & asked multiple times, but this request is slightly different.
I am looking for an independent surveyor/expert specialized in dampness.
The building survey of an house I am trying to buy reports that some walls show signs of dampness. The surveyor recommended a quote from companies like Kenwood and Peter Cox.
After some researches, I understand that the standard PDC treatments (injections and tanking) that these companies sell don't solve the root cause, but only hide the moisture (blocking it in within the walls), causing important damages to the victorian walls that are supposed to breathe:

Can you suggest a local professional that can look into the root causes (e.g. ventilation, leakages, wrong plastering materials, etc.)?
