  Oh and John if u dont mind travelling a little way The Houndshill nr Ettington is fab for food. Run by the same family for a good number of years. Food is home cooked and their Sunday roasts are awesome v child friendly too :)) http://www.thehoundshill.co.uk/

  The Ferry at Alveston and The Antelope at Lighthorne are lovely country pubs and both do awesome food. The market is an awful place, go up one aisle and you have seen everything, and it leaves a mess and causes chaos on the roads as they come in their bus loads from all over.

  Can anyone recommend somewhere good around here (within 10-15 miles) for lunch? I always take my Dad out for his birthday (83 this year), but can't think of anywhere. In past years we've been to The Fox at Loxley, The Bell at Alderminster and Chequers at Ettington - really enjoyed all of them but want somewhere different. Any ideas much appreciated :o)

  Hi Rachel have you tried The Houndshill just down from the Ettington roundabout on the Banbury Road going towards Stratford. See the link below. It's family run and their food is lovely.   The other one you might want to consider Rachel is The Ferry in Alveston Village.Im biased as it's run by friends but the food is very good and it's a very nice country pub ;)
