About us
Kevin is a full-time outdoor enthusiast and a part-time wildlife photographer who specializes in capturing the intimate and unparalleled beauty of the world's fine-feathered creatures in their natural habitats and environments. Kevin’s lifelong unbridled passion for birds began at the early age of 10-years-old with his interest in photography following a few years later, and with the seemingly inevitable marriage of the two, Kevin Malo Photography was born.
Kevin's studio is wherever there is wildlife present: the rain forests of Costa Rica, the vast glaciers of Alaska, the lush tropical isles of the Caribbean or his very own backyard in Simonton, Texas. Kevin's style of photography is as unique and diverse as his studio settings, often times focusing on fine feather detail while other times taking in the larger picture and showcasing his subject not solely as the star but rather as an equal component of its natural surrounding habitat.
Kevin shoots exclusively with Canon cameras and lenses with the Canon 7D body and EF 400mm f/5.6-L lens being his combination of choice for capturing images ranging from the tiniest of hummingbirds to the most grandiose of stature - the eagles. All photos are shot in the RAW format and are minimally processed in the digital darkroom utilizing the vast array of tools offered by Adobe Photoshop. All images are "what was shot is what you get" with no elements added to the images that were not present at the time of shooting.
