As an FYI this is why it is important for everyone to take time to do some basic estate planning. Even BASIC (read: ch eaper) solutions can help your descendents avoid probate. An ounce of planning is worth WAY more than a pound of cure when it comes to avoiding probate. You can be poor (or like me: cheap) and still benefit from things like land trusts or family trusts or (if you have crazy kids) spendthrift trusts. I am just saying. ...
