  We requested quotes this spring to have a sketchy silver maple taken down. The lowest bidder was Hilltop Tree Service in Westland (734-729-3652). I talked to them for a while when they came out for the quote and they seemed pretty reasonable to me. Not necessarily the most polished characters, but competent and personable. When it's cool enough to split wood, we will invite them back to do the job.
