I recently signed up for my first half iron, Pumpkin Man! Looking forward to some ice-free training! Can any of the triathletes out there recommend a local place to check out wetsuits?
Julie N. replied:
Trisports.com has a wetsuit calculator to help you figure out what brand might be best suited to you. They also have a "one free swim" policy that lets you test out your wetsuit in water and still return it.
I don't want to spend the money on a Garmin 910 watch because I already have a Garmin for running. Anyway, what do you recommend that's cheaper and I can use laps in the pool and open water?
Xavier K. replied:
There was a huge sale on the 910 last week, it might still be going on; think it was like 25% off plus a $50 rebate on trisports.com. For that price it would be worth picking up.
This weekend I took a spill on the bike and swiss cheesed my tri-kit. Looking to replace it before Saturday, so does anyone know of a decent local store that has more than 1 tri kit on the shelf? Been looking on various websites too. Any suggestions on deals?
Roger H. replied:
trisports.com has 30% off till tonight. If they have it in stock, they are usually quite fast. But I guess no guarantee for Saturday.
Found your group from a friend and was looking for some advise. I am training for my first tri and my heart rate monitor just broke. The one I had lasted for 12 years but didn't have a GPS function. Was looking around and found the Magellan switch up watch w heart rate monitor. The roadrunner 910 is $450 and the megellan is $250 so I'm leaning toward that one. Any comments or other recommendations? Thanks!

The Garmin 910 was recently on sale at trisports.com for 25% off. Keep your eyes open for sales.
I'm looking for local places to purchase tri suits. Anyone know of stores that sell them?
Pete G. replied:
I have never found them in Berks County or even most of PA other then the Endurance Sports show. I rely on TriSports.com & All3 sports.com. You can get some deals on SportsBasement.com if you are lucky too. Jennifer "A Running Start" is nice . . but all running stuff. No tri apparel.
does anyone have any information on wetusuits where to buy, what are some really good ones to look at, I am looking to make a good investment in a quality wetsuit, can anyone help.
The best deal I found was on trisports.com. You can go to final kick and get your size and then just order from tri-sports on-line. So If you end up purchasing from trisports.com make sure you use the coupon code SOURCE you get 15% off too! Good Luck. Brian
I am looking for a place locally that sells tri-shorts. Anyone know of a place where I can go to pick up a pair? (Online will do as long as I can get them within a week...
Personal experience is all I've got to offer. Try this website and see if their prices fit your budget. www.trisports.com I placed an order there last year and had my stuff in 3 working days. Their website states to allow 7 but the shipping map puts Okla in the 3 day range and they were right!!!(they have desoto tri shorts
