WhyThis5566 asked:Sorry if this is the wrong place! Looking to adopt FIV+ cat/s Bristol/Southwest I've been wanting to adopt an FIV+ cat/s for a while now. I live in a second floor flat and I feel one could be a good fit as they're not allowed outside and we have no garden. I have no preference on colour or gender, but I would prefer an older cat! My partner works nights and I work days, we also have a housemate who works shifts so there is always someone home. I'd love to be able to give an FIV+ cat a loving home, but I can't find anywhere in Bristol that offers them for adoption? I know Bristol cats and dogs home used to have a special tab for them but they seem to have recently taken it down (I've been thinking about this for over a year and used to regularly check the site!). Does anyone know of any charities/foster homes that would be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
chaostime replied:Your best bet is to get in touch with cats protection https://www.cats.org.uk/. Tell them your circumstances and if they have a cat that's suitable they'll let you know. If they don't have one right now they'll get in touch when they do.

However after already nearly £100 And not anticipating gaining a cat we could really do with someone looking over him to check he is in good health without costing the earth! He is very skinny and told he is at least 15 but not sure. His eyes are a little weepy and we really want someone to just once over him and check his health but we can't afford the fees and naturally if there is anything wrong we haven't got insurance. When is the best time to get my female cat neutered (spayed)? The operation should usually be done at four months of age (but can safely be done when your cat is younger or older). Kittens can get pregnant from four months of age and many people do not realise that brothers and sisters will produce kittens if they live together unneutered. If kittens are neutered later than four months, some will have an unwanted litter – this is contributing to a cat population crisis in the UK. Kittens have traditionally been neutered at six months of age, but veterinary guidance has changed to reflect latest evidence and neutering at four months is now recommended.
