He grabbed the leather from the seam and ripped the whole top part if the couch because he was frustrated

  Kathleen - try calling All Furniture Services (888) 575-6757. I use them often in my decorating business. You can even send them an email (service@servicefurniture.com) with photos and they can take a look and tell you if it can be fixed.
