Hello all! I just moved to OB from Minnesota two weeks ago and I'm loving everything about it. I came out here with faith that I could get all the pieces of the puzzle aligned but I'm really needing help.
In MN, my 2-year-old daughter and I were about to be homeless but my family members in OB were able to get us out here and offer a bed to crash on and food to eat while we get on our feet. My family isn't able to do this much longer and we need a place to go ASAP/NOW.
I am working on getting food and cash assistance through the state but it is proving to be quite the challenge. The county worker I was assigned screwed up my application and I'll have to either appeal or reapply (still trying to figure it out). I'd love to just start working now but I need child care which means I need assistance...
The shelters are overflowing. The transitional housing programs I've looked into can't help either. My family only has the means to help for a couple weeks, which is over.
Is there anyone in OB that can help us? We need a place to sleep (we share a bed) and necessities such as food and a space that is safe for a toddler. I'm not sure on the timeline as it depends on how quickly I can get state assistance. I am more than happy to help with housework, bike to get groceries/run errands, or whatever I can do to balance the exchange.
Thank you in advance, even for reading. Really hoping for a blessing.
