Rude and unprofessional. Worst experience moving, ever. If you care to know why, read on. I referred Justin’s company “Me and My Red Truck” to someone who used him twice, and the second time I was not the payer but I was the only person present, facilitating the move and separating my things from my friend’s property, who was moving out of a shared storage unit that I own. Mistakes happen, and as Justin’s employees were moving my friend’s belongings onto their truck, they also moved some of my own things onto the truck no less than 18 times. I had to constantly take my property back off the truck, and hey I didn’t mind to, since I’m not trying to lose a bunch of property, so if the problem had stopped there, everything would have been fine. However, then Justin started ordering me around telling me to move not my own things, but instead he was giving me various orders about moving my friend’s belongings further out of the unit and down the hallway along with his crew as if I was one of his employees. His attitude was bad, and his tone was condescending. After exhausting myself for an hour, I realized I wasn’t the one being hired and paid to do this move, or to take orders from him. I politely reminded Justin that the purpose of me being there as the storage unit owner, was to simply let him inside the gate and to make sure my own property was being safely separated and kept at my storage unit, my job was not to be a mover, moving my friend’s things. He got instantly more rude to me and wouldn’t communicate with me at all for the rest of the move. When I messaged him later about the bad communication, giving him the benefit of the doubt that maybe my friend had caused the miscommunication by not making it clear how important it was to not only move their things, but for him to also make sure my belongings were put back where they were supposed to go into the main storage unit after separating everything - his response was “Huh?” And then he actually said “Oh yeah, I was talking to you like that cause you’re not the client, and I was just giving you tasks inside the storage unit to keep you off my truck.” Wow. If you have a problem with a customer taking their own property off of your truck, you need to clearly communicate “I can’t allow customers on the truck” and then you need to help them move it off the truck yourself. You don’t lie to them and try to distract them and try to put them to work doing the job that you’re being paid to do. Again, I was the one who booked him the job, and he was in my storage unit, handling my property. It’s also important to note that I was on his truck, back and forth, during a previous move and he never had a problem with it before. Apparently, if you’re “only” the storage unit owner this time around, or the helper, or just not the person who’s writing the check, Justin, the owner of this company, doesn’t know how to treat you with respect or show gratitude for the referral that was given to him. I won’t make the mistake of referring this company to anyone again.
