  So, there is a situation where I know of two dogs that could die if not fed and it looks like their own will be MIA for a while. I am hesitant to take them cuz one is a Rotty and one is a pit bull and I am really not sure how much I can trust them around my kids. I know they are friendly with adults, but kids playing in the yard... That's different. Anyways, I am wondering if there is any sort of organization that helps out in these kinds of situations, like temporary foster care but not boarding (I can't afford it...) Any suggestions?

  It changes daily, and there are several shelters. Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary, Second Chance. Any place you go you have to fill out an application and most require a home inspection so you could get that done ahead of time and tell them what you are looking for.
