  Recession Busting Moms fan in the North Kildare area looking for suggestions re changing from oil to gas heating, see below, Thanks Lenore "I really love your website. I was wondering if you could ask a question about converting from oil to gas heating for me - anonymously if possible. We bought a house last last year that had oil heating and spent a fortune last year topping it up. The oil tank was locked so no one could have been stealing it. The house was only ever warm for a short space of time and the oil lasted no length of time. I was wondering should we look at getting rid of the oil boiler and getting a gas one installed. Lots of our neighbours have gas so it is obviously piped in our area. We live in North Kildare so recommendations for someone to guide us on it would be great. Also if anyone knows of any grants we would be entitled to that would be great too. Many thanks"

  I can heartily recommend RMI Services in Naas, contact Martin 086 8260657. He'll be able to tell you about what you have to do to get the grants etc tell you the running cost difference between gas and oil (gas is cheaper per kwh by the way) and advise re insulation which sounds like an issue here. I also know he has great references and plenty of satisfied customers.
