  I have a handyman that I use but it's for the units that I own. I rent and report any issue to my building manager. Before giving you that info, you should check out http://www.tenant.org/ for information and options. Without knowing any details, it's hard to know the situations you've already experienced but don't fix this persons place up for them just yet.   No. But not expensive at all. I believe they're non-profit. You want free, good luck getting a return phone call. I spent weeks trying about 10 related sources/agencies back in February. Cook Cty Legal Aid Hotline 312 738 9200. Eviction hotline 773 478 1133 - for starters.

  Chicago City Council around the end of June put a Law into place where evicted tenants are entitled to 10,000 for relocation costs. Check it out...
