Tips on good monitor calibration software/hardware for a 2011 imac? I edited some photos, and had them printed out with costco. They ended up much darker, and the colors were horrible. So now I have a dilemma: is my monitor crazy uncalibrated, so that what i see isn't what is printed, or is costco photo printing way off with what they print out?
I'm contemplating screen calibration hardware/software. Any recommendations?

Did you check the box to let Costco adjust your photos or not? You shouldn't. You should also upload to Costco in sRGB. You can also preview your files with the local labs colour profiles through - http://www.drycreekphoto.com/icc/ For screen calibration, look at the Spyder or Xrite.
Hi all. One of our best friend has passed away and we would like to have a special photo montage printed that we can place in the temple. We would like it a larger size. I know one of you fellow burners owns a printing company. Can you contact me please. Thanks!

If you use color correction, you can download an .ICC profile from http://www.drycreekphoto.com/icc/ You can use Photoshop or some other formatting program. Just output it in a .JPG at 300 dpi. Upload it to Costco and they'll print a 20"x30" poster for $9. You can pick it up at which ever store you submit the job to. You can go bigger with a canvas print, but then it gets pricey 40"x60" for $289.99 unframed or $379.99 framed http://www.costcophotocenter.com/Help... Hope that helps.
Photographer Friends- what process do you recommend for having photo's printed? Any online companies you like, or a favorite local service (preferably in the Bay Area?)

I've used Costco before. But before you do, you might want to change the color space of your images to correspond with their printers. Check out the site: http://www.drycreekphoto.com/icc/
