Rough day as a tourist in London - please help us find a good dinner... Our plans got all screwy due to road closures and we basically wasted our day. We are looking to find an awesome dinner, either tapas or Indian - something drawn out. We are looking for somewhere pretty trendy, as our dinner last night was at a completely empty pizza place.
Can anyone help us? It's hard to know which restaurants are tourist traps and which are actually good. Good cocktails would be a bonus!

It's mid-budget (think about ÂŁ35-ÂŁ50/head for a long meal), but Dishoom would be a real treat in your circumstances. There are branches around London: http://www.dishoom.com/ No booking, just rock up.
My husband has to travel to London for work next week so our 5 month old son and I are going to tag along! We will only be there a day and a half...does anyone have any good places to eat, things to see or do etc? We are not really looking to do any tours as our time is very limited. We will be staying near Waterloo Station. Thanks in advance!

http://skygarden.london It's really beautiful and free if you book. Alternatively you can book breakfast/lunch/dinner. Or queue but at the weekends the queue can be long! I like dishoom really lovely food and a good atmosphere. http://www.dishoom.com/shoreditch/ Also Richmond park is great. Lots to see there and nice cafes near roehampton gate or at Pembroke lodge. It depends where your staying really! So much to do.
Gong to be in London end of December. Tips on great restaurants? Also, is there a London equivalent of the vendy awards for food trucks?

Hakkasan is INCREDIBLE - Chinese but not the kind of shit they serve at the end of a random street. Also, if you're a fan of Indian food, you have to try this place - http://www.dishoom.com/
Can anyone recommend somewhere not too expensive, but with really good food and a fun atmosphere, that I can have dinner with 2 friends next week Tuesday? I work in Shoreditch but anywhere East/centralish would be fine. Need inspiration. Thanks

My 'go to' when in that area, it's lovely xx http://www.dishoom.com/shoreditch/

Vietnamese! The Viet Hoa Cafe on Kingsland Road. I second Dishoom though yummy. I love brasserie Zedal in to but prob not the atmosphere you are looking for!
Jane S. replied:
I third dishoom

I love dishoom too, also pizza east?
Hugh W. replied:
+1 for Dishoom. Or a little further east, Oslo in Hackney serves good food and it has a laidback, fun atmosphere
I am in need of finding a genuinely really good Indian Restaurant, in vaguely East London, for some visiting design world dignitaries. Anyone got any good ideas. Please let me know. Thanks!

If you're OK to go a bit more central Gymkhana is worth it. Or Dishoom, as they all said already...
Emily B. replied:
Dishoom in shoreditch is good and quite cool interior, not too pricey. Otherwise the best Indian tends to be in Mayfair, Michelin star and super pricey but Tamarind is delicious!
Anyone recommend a decent, relaxing Indian restaurant in Brick Lane for an early evening Saturday meal. Trying to avoid the 'smash-it-out, cliched, naan-fight' establishments. Cheers in advance

Not quite Brick Lane but really nice Indian place in Shoreditch - Dishoom. Highly recommend!
I'm going to London next week and wanted to know if any of you had any recommendations for good vegan restaurants, central, there? I'm going with meat eaters so I could handle a restaurant that has good vegan options too. Thanks :) x
