Beginner Yoga in Houston? Can anyone recommend a good down to earth yoga place for a beginner? I've been checking out some places online and a lot of them are eco friendly this, energy flow that, diet plan here. My goal is to be more flexible and balanced.
I'm looking for a place with a clean environment, instructors that are not pushing sales. So far I've spotted these two, does any Houstonian Redditor have any experience with 'em?

Try the Yoga Collective in Garden Oaks. They have a 4 week long Beginner's Series that teaches all the basics. The next one starts in July. www.houstonyogacollective.com

I have been taking classes around town since 2008. I think that Pralaya, Yoga Collective, and the Yoga Institute are some of my favorite places to go. My home is Actually Sundance Yoga in Friendswood, but I have moved so I don't get out there as much. Big places like BIG and yoga one can be too big and you get lost in the crowd. Also I found that they were not as apt to correct students on an individual level.
I'm looking for a great place close by for our whole family to take beginning yoga classes together. Any suggestions? Me, the hubs, and our kids ages 9 & 14. Thanks!

AND, Georgia Lister, YC is across the street from Sears. How much more convenient can it get?! They have an intro/basic series with Kristin and she's awesome. Very affordable. And, I've been doing yoga for a very long time and I can say without a doubt that YC is the best for everyone! Oh, and Lululemon pants are NOT required and for sure not encouraged! 713-498-0897

Have no interest in "dissing" Nia. But, have practiced yoga for many years and the Yoga Collective yogis are masters of their craft. You would be remiss not to check out ALL recommendations. Candice Quinn and Riha Robertson totally ROCK!
