He is chief of the family medicine department at the BP Medical Group. He has been my primary for nearly 5 years. I am not a difficult person for a doctor to deal with. Therefore I demand a doctor offering the same to me. This guy is great. The website may show him closed to new patients. Ignore that and do whatever you can to get a first meeting with him. It only took me 3-4 calls and he accepted me. Has something to do with 'a squeeky door'. Good Luck To You Erin.

It's all very user-friendly and transparent.

Because when I first started, I lived there, and I really like my doctor. You can make your appointments online, and order refills too, and have them delivered to your home for free.

Amanda C. replied:I'm in Roseville, CA and am signed up for 4 classes through Kaiser one called preparing for childbirth that my midwife said is perfect to prepare for a natural birth as well as a breastfeeding class. I would check with member services or go online to kp.org. That's where I first looked and then discussed the classes further with my midwife.

Virginia R. replied:I have to echo getting professional advice or at a minimum sitting down with all plans laid out in front of you as far as benefits. Personal experience? Here goes. With Kaiser, it took us probably three years to get a terrific doctor for each of us, but they are all awesome and we are very happy now. Mine doesn't go to bed without answering emails! Now that we know the couple of specialists we need and have direct access to them Kaiser has been great. My doc did backflips to get me alternative treatments for my back. We left Sharp because the prescription process was a complete nightmare. I literally spent a year and half trying to get a lousy inhaler covered; I had to go back to the crappiest ones I had taken years before - read as CHEAPEST for Sharp - all the way up to the one I needed. I STILL got rejected every month and it took up to a week to call back and forth with customer service reps and supervisors to get it approved - again. I had Sharp Independent so I could go to Mary Birch for Jonah, but that meant I had to have a doc with his/her own practice that was contracted with Sharp. (I know, weird.) Don't even think about that. I went through two of the less than ten docs in SD and they were literally the two worst doctors I have ever been to. First one did not return calls and neither did her backup, and the second clearly suffered from dementia (not kidding). Keith had the HMO and had no problems, but was totally healthy the whole time.
