Does anyone know any websites to get an idea of graphic design contracts? Or someone that can review contracts? I’m being offered a partnership with a new design company in nyc and I want to make sure the contract I’m signing covers me if anything happens. I’m not good at these things.. any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Try searching through the site of the Graphic Artists Guild, https://www.graphicartistsguild.org/
Does anyone know a copyright lawyer in Chicago (or anywhere)? I need some legal advice and also possibly a "cease and desist" letter if necessary..

Hi Shayna, you might try contacting the graphic artists guild www.gag.org if you cant find someone local. They are very serious about copyright issues.
Alright Renegades. It's time to get some ducks in a row. Who can suggest the best place for creating contracts to cover my ass? I need one each for Contractors, Suppliers, and Clients. Rolling the dice with "on good faith"...

Coming late to this party, but the Graphic Artist's Guild http://gag.org (I know, unfortunate) was where I started mine. Also, having a brother-in-law who is a lawyer may be ok, but unless he specializes in contract law for creatives, you may be better off with a specialist. You wouldn't hire a Python developer to design your website. Contract law for creatives is just a specialized as any of the niches of web de(sign/velopment).
