  Hey everyone, I am a photographer working on a photoshoot for a new local magazine called AK Rhythm Magazine. My idea is based around the depression era, but I'm having a hard time finding a location in/around Anchorage that matches the time. I've contacted the Oscar Anderson House and they aren't willing to let us shoot there. Can anyone recommend any really old abandoned houses or other structures? I thought this would be a good place to ask! Its been difficult to secure permission from establishments.

  Kristen - The Palmer Historical Society, http://www.palmerhistoricalsociety.org/, may be able to help. The Matanuska Colony was a New Deal Farm Colony built during the 1930 s. You may also want to contact Fran Seager-Boss, the Matanuska Borough's Cultural Resource Manager.
